Since 2002, the Texas Electrical Safety Association has been committed to providing
high-quality vocational and technical education that empowers individuals to build
successful careers in the electrical industry. Through electrical safety training,
continuing education, licensing exam preparation, and our registered four-year
apprenticeship program, we equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence
needed to excel in their profession.
Guided by a belief in lifelong learning and workforce development, our mission is to
promote safety, professionalism, and excellence in the electrical trade while creating
opportunities for personal growth, career advancement, maintaining high standards, and industry leadership throughout Texas.
Our commitment is built on transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship—without excessive overhead, extravagant spending, or unnecessary perks. Every dollar is focused on delivering real value to our members and strengthening the electrical trade.
At the Texas Electrical Safety Association, we provide a straightforward, stress-free partnership focused on supporting electrical contractors, employers, and apprentices. With no application fees, lower membership costs, and customized membership services, we deliver state-of-the-art resources designed for today’s electrical industry.
We are also proud to offer a U.S. Department of Labor-approved Electrical Apprenticeship Program, providing comprehensive classroom instruction and hands-on training to develop highly skilled, safety-focused electricians. Through a supportive learning environment and a commitment to excellence, we help prepare the next generation of electrical professionals for long-term success.

Dave Wilson moved to Houston, Texas from his small Illinois farm town in 1966 and attended the University of Houston while working.
After ten years in the corporate setting, Dave switched careers and started an electrical contracting business. He studied evenings and weekends, while operating his company, in preparation for the electrical master's exam. Dave holds the Houston Master Electrician License #8. After two decades in the electrical trade, Dave formed the Texas Electrical Safety Association in 2003, a non-profit proprietary school that provides electrical safety, electrical exam preparation, continuing education, and electrical training classes. In the fall of 2024 Mr. Wilson opened a four-year electrical apprenticeship school approved by the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship. In his experience teaching, Dave believes nothing is more satisfying than having a student complete a course, pass the state electrical exam, get a promotion, raise in pay, and come back to thank us by referring a new student to our school. Wilson believes, "If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you."
